1and1 server; clean install

Hi everybody,

I have read a few posts about installing a clean centos5 on an 1and1 server with AOOI.
Thats what I want to do, too.
What I would like to know is, what do I have to backup/write down prior installation?
For example the plesk license key and the network config.
But maybe there is more, that might be helpful to check if everything went correct?

Thanks a lot for any infos and help!

Best,

BruceLee

Hmmm, really noboby or is there nothing to take care of?
Just a quick comment would be enough.
What about dmesg and lspci output prior erasing 1and1 installation?

Thanks,
BruceLee

Dunno how I missed this thread, sorry!

If its a brand new 1and1 image, then you should just grab the plesk key in /etc/psa/. Or is this a migration you're doing?

Thanks a lot and no problem. I'm very happy that you help me.

It's a brand new installation. I want to install a clean centos5.3 with ASL.
I'm a little bit concerned about the hardware and if everything will be
recognized correctly, because of the know 1and1's hardware choices and configurations.
Or am I overanxious about that?

Thank you very much.

If you're re-imaging it with AOOI, then its going to go through the standard hardware detection process used by CentOS. It should be just fine

Great. Thank you very much. I will start within the next two weeks.
Do you already have a launch date for asl2.2 ?
Thanks
