Centos 5.4 Fresh Install for Plesk

Unread post by JnascECSI »

I thought i had seen a walk-through that showed an almost perfect OS install for Centos 5.3 here in a trhead somewhere and configure it for a Fresh Plesk Install. Anyone know where that is located?

I'm not slow  but seems that everytime i build a new Server to install plesk i end up missing stuff or have to remove crap.....

The "perfect" environment is the one that comes straight from CentOS. Plesk expects all those components and will cause issues if you change any of them.
I wouldn't even install 5.4 until Plesk supports it.

After you've installed Plesk, upgrade to your heart's content.

Just do a minimal CentOS install. Plesk will add what it needs. And you can add any extras you like afterwards.

Thanks guys for the Info.
With regards to 32-bit and 64-bit which flavor seems to be the most stable and usuable. I can't decide if i should go 32 or 64.

32 and 64 bit are equally stable and usuable in our experience. It depends mainly on the amount of RAM you plan to use. If 4 GB or more I suggest going with 64-bit. It is possible to use 4+ GB RAM on 32-bit (using a PAE kernel), but you'll get better performance from a 64-bit system.
