I just cannot get reliable results from the 9.3 backup/restore to remote ftp repository...seems many others have similar probs (look at their forum), yet seems like plesk ignoring these chronic issues...

Could anyone suggest a workable alternative for backups that I might implement?

Plesk backup has been messed up for me since moving to 9.2. If you find anything let me know.

I'd realy recommend spending a few dollars on 4psa backup. Works like a charm. Or use rsync. I know Scott vouches for rsync. http://www.grafxsoftware.com/ has a rsync script.
