Running on x64... any compatibility issues?

Hi people!

I have one doubt concerning the x64 distros. Are there any compatibility issues on running Plesk on an x64 OS? Do you know any software that has no x64 release or doesn´t work the same as it should on a 64 bit environment? I ask this, because I currently have a dual Opteron server, which supports x64 extensions, and maybe I would get a better performance on running in a native x64 distro of linux instead of the usual x86 32bits. However, if it turns out to be a pain in the ass, I rather choose the 32 bits distro.

Thank You.

Ive never run it myself, but I'd say at the very least you will need all the 32-bit compatibility libraries.

Hum, ok, maybe it is better to stick with 32bits distro then.

Also, you are doing a great job with ART. Thank You ;)

BTW, I'm definitely going to start distributing 64-bit binaries, right now I lack a 64-bit box to build them on, and I'm working out some kinks building 64-bit binaries on a 32-bit platform.

I have the following spec:

AMD Athlon 64 3400+
2 GB RAM
250 GB SATA HDD
20 Mbps Dedicated Unmetered BW
CentOS release 4.2 (Final) 64 bit

Went to install PLESK and hey - it doesnt work right, so if Scott wants a demo box to try on :)

The most recent CentOS release officially supported by Plesk is CentOS 3.3 at the moment.

Check out http://www.swsoft.com/en/products/plesk75reloaded/reqs/

Though I have heard stories of people running Plesk on CentOS 4 with some minor tweaks.

The only supported x64 releases seems to be SuSE currently.
