Will the PHP yum upgrade break Plesk 8.x?

I know that the answer is maybe no, maybe yes :) My daughter has cancer and I have little time. But I have 30 servers with Plesk 8.x and 9.x that need upgrades to Plesk 10. In the mean time I need a newer version of Plesk. I come from Ensim where every upgrade always broke everything :( I know the instructions are clear at http://www.atomicorp.com/wiki/index.php/PHP but I wonder what the common failures are. Our Plesk installations reside in Virtuozzo 3 containers.

PHP is pretty harmless, the big gotcha is make sure the applications are compatible with it. Anything modern will be, but if you have older php 4 boxes with old code it could cause problems.

Plesk does not depende on the php* packages on your server, it comes with its own copy of PHP, so you can't really break Plesk this way. Only the websites hosted by Apache are affected by this upgrade. Unless the PHP code for those sites is somehow incompatible it should just work.
