Cpanel RPM conversion status

* MySQL is currently managed via RPM and can be replaced by editing /usr/local/cpanel/etc/rpm.versions.local in 11.30. We can expect the way that this RPM is created to change at some point in the future.
* perl will be RPMified in 11.34 (3-6 month ETA), this will not replace the system perl, but rather install a secondary modern version of perl into /usr/local/cpanel for use by cPanel & WHM.
* PHP & HTTPd are expected to be RPMified in 11.38+ which we plan on releasing either q4 2011 or sometime in 2012
* python is currently only installed to a non-default location if the system python is not sufficient, RHEL5/6 should not require python to be compiled

Yes, everything they use.
Apache would be really nice, including all its modules.

Tell them to follow redhat's standards when it comes to the apache design & layout (including config files). For example they don't compile modules that regularly would get built (mod_uniqueid for example), theres no need to skip that in the build. If you don't want a module you just don't load it... having it around means you dont have to spend 40 minutes rebuilding the daemon each time you want to make a minor change.
