AW Stats not updating stats automatically.

Having issues with AWstats reporting statistics. The generated monthly html files are incorrect,
My plesk config file has the following info related to it:
AWSTATS_ETC_D /etc/awstats
AWSTATS_BIN_D /var/www/awstats
AWSTATS_TOOLS_D /usr/bin
AWSTATS_DOC_D /var/www/awstats
and I did a localte awstats_buildstaticpages.pl
it is located in /usr/bin/
Do I need to change the path of AWSTATS_DOC_D to the buildstaticpages directory?
(Got this impression from some other forums)
I can generate them manually. Also checked the cron jobs hourly daily, both have AWSTATS.
Any help much appreciated.
