Any Experienced IceCast users?

Hi,
I've been asked to install IceCast for a client, but I've never installed it before and don't know where to start.

But after following the above guides carefully, I've had no success. I have managed to get the icecast server to start no problem, but when I try and access the server via port 8000 (http://mydomain:8000) nothing comes up, no web interface, matter of fact it can't load a web page at all.
The server works fine, and the website attached to the domain works fine, just Icecast don't want to play ball. I did look at the error logs, but nothing in there reporting an error, so at this point I'm stumped.
I installed this Icecast on a test VPS, and haven't installed it on my dedicated ASL secured server yet, for fear of screwing it up.
