Server sending email to mailbox that doesn't exist

Hi,

We have a client with the the website www.domain.com that is currently hosted by company A and has the email sent to a different place - company B.
He wants to move from company A to us but wants to keep his mail with company B.

I set-up the new subscription on plesk, changed the DNS settings for mail to go to company B and currently waiting for the transfer.

The issue is: our server can't send any emails to the client at this moment because it tries to send to a mailbox on our server that doesn't exist.
Why isn't it just sending the emails to company B as it's pointed in the DNS settings?

What can be done? (we suspend the domain for now but this is not the way to go as we are waiting for the transfer so we can't have the domain inactive )
any ideas?

thanks

If mail is enabled your local mailserver thinks it should try to deliver messages for this domain locally. This is because when mail is enabled, your local mail server is configured to accept mail for this domain, regardless of the DNS settings.

So, you need to disable mail services under the Mail Settings for this Subscription in Plesk.
