Hi,
I'm trying to run yum for the first time on FC2 /7.5.4 reloaded system.
My system did not have yum so I installed yum. Modified the yum.conf and installed what I believe are the appropriate keys. And I get the following error.

[root@server etc]# yum update

Package glibc-dummy-fedora-core-2 needs glibc-common = 2.3.3-27.1, this is not available.

What should I do next. I'm a novice - very novice. Thank you, Amira

I removed the following dummy file on my system: glibc-dummy-fedora-core-2 by typing:
yum erase glibc-dummy-fedora-core2

and was able to continue with
yum update
