When doing an update with

Code: Select all

aum -u
I encountered this detail:

Code: Select all

Updating CLAMAV to 201310171416: updated [OK]
/bin/cp: target `/var/clamav/' is not a directory
It is true that we do not have a '/var/clamav/' directory, we run Interworx that runs clamav from '/var/lib/clamav'
We have CLAMAV_DatabaseDirectory pointing to '/var/lib/clamav' on the ASL GUI configuration.

Why are we getting this error?
Should we be concerned?

After the update, all seems to be running OK.

Thanks and regards,

/var/clamav is required. AUM pushes our updates to that directory, it is not a configurable setting

scott wrote:/var/clamav is required.
So we should create the directory, right?
Is that all there is to do to fix this?
Thanks,

I would recommend using our packages/configs/paths. I cant guarantee that just playing with paths will work for your situation

And we definitely do not support other vendors packages, if do run into issues and you use someone elses clamav rpms then you will need to ask them for support theres no telling what they may do differently or patches and enhancements they may not include. Always use our packages if you want our support for that software.
