Can't send mail after installing qmail-scanner

I'm running Plesk 7.5.4 under FC2. This is a new server I'm setting up to replace my current one.
I installed clamd and qmail-scanner using yum. Since then, no mail from that server. I went in and ran logwatch from the prompt and got this error message:
Googling on that, I found this tread at the Qmailrocks Forum. It suggests several fixes, none of which seem to apply here, because for instance, I have no qmail-scanner-queue.pl anywhere at all on this server.
yum remove qmail-scanner restored the ability to send mail.
So, what did I do wrong and how should I go about doing it right?
