Urgent issue with ASL ClamAV database

Unread post by prupert »

There is currently an urgent issue with the ASL ClamAV database definitions.

This breaks the 'clamd' service and subsequently this will break mail delivery for all servers that rely on qmail-scanner, and possibly other services that rely on a working ClamAV service.

Symptoms:
- clamd stopped
- psmon errors about clamd restarts failing
- asl -s -f errors about clamd reloads
- aum -uf won't fix it

Quick work-around (I do not know a real solution):
- rm /var/clamav/ASL-blacklist.ldb -f; service clamd restart

An urgent fix and reply from ASL would be appreciated.

[update: a fix appears to have been released via the rule updates]

An update which addresses this issue has just been released:
CLAMAV_VERSION 201405220917

The issue should be fixed automatically if you have automatic updates configured. If you want the rule update fix to be applied ASAP, run the following:

Code: Select all

aum -uf
