Not sure if this is the right place to report this type of error, but the configuration.php that is installed with the Joomla 1.0.8-1 rpm from the atomic-testing channel is missing a ; (semi-colon) at the end of line 45
Haven't gone much further other than to verify the logins created with the install work and I was able to create a section/content item without errors.
