well you can, I just dont recommend it. The safer alternative would be to make a backup, rekick the box with the OS you want, and restore into it.

Im know Scott, i read the problem is that i have all my servers in a datacenter and dont phisicall acces to it. Another problem is the downtime, to reconfigure all the services, firewall, reintall plesk, erc.
I know thath no is the correct way, but i need speed in upgrade my OS.

However thanks a lot sir

I don't think you can go from FC2 to FC5 like that. I went from FC4 to FC5 via yum on my workstation, but I don't think earlier versions work as cleanly. If you want a longer lifecycle for your OS I recommend migrating away from Fedora to something like CentOS. CentOS 4 will have updates at least till something like 2012.

By the way, Plesk is not yet supported on FC5.

I also have a script that would let you reinstall the OS on a box remotely with CentOS4, without needing to be at the console. They are available here:

http://3es.atomicrocketturtle.com/tests/os-installer.sh (lilo)
http://3es.atomicrocketturtle.com/tests ... staller.sh (grub)
http://3es.atomicrocketturtle.com/tests ... staller.sh (for 1and1 users)
