Install OSSEC server on ubuntu server 16.04.07

Hello All
I have some questions regarding the installation of OSSEC on Ubuntu server that will be on virtual box:
1.does the server must be apache?
2. what are the requirements to install the OSSEC server on my ubuntu machine(on virtual box)?
3.In order to link server and agent I *must* to use any other software (like alienvault)?
