Problems with the MySQL after PHP upgade

I updated my VPS Plesk 7.5 with YUM:
Unfortunetly you are using an unsupported version of MySQL. Plesk does not make use of MySQL 4.1 on RHEL3. You will either need to downgrade your MySQL.
And when I use: # yum remove mysql

The problem is that the MySQL stop working and the admins told me this:mysql Ver 14.7 Distrib 4.1.20, for redhat-linux-gnu (i686) using readline 4.3
