Hi

I updated my VPS Plesk 7.5 with YUM:
mysql Ver 14.7 Distrib 4.1.20, for redhat-linux-gnu (i686) using readline 4.3
mysql-server-4.1.20-1.art.rhel3.art
libdbi-dbd-mysql-0.6.5-5
mysql-4.1.20-1.art.rhel3.art
mysql_passwd-0.7-2.swsoft
mysql-compat-4.1.20-1.art.rhel3.art
php-mysql-4.4.2-3.rhel3.art
The problem is that the MySQL stop working and the admins told me this:

Unfortunetly you are using an unsupported version of MySQL. Plesk does not make use of MySQL 4.1 on RHEL3. You will either need to downgrade your MySQL.

And when I use: # yum remove mysql

Is apears this:
I will do the following:
[erase: mysql 4.1.20-1.art.rhel3.art.i386]
I will erase these to satisfy the dependencies:

Is there a way to remove the just the MySQL without removing all other componets except for this:
mysql-server-4.1.20-1.art.rhel3.art
libdbi-dbd-mysql-0.6.5-5
mysql-4.1.20-1.art.rhel3.art
mysql_passwd-0.7-2.swsoft
mysql-compat-4.1.20-1.art.rhel3.art
And is there a way to install the MySQL 4.0.27 insted?

I don't use RHEL3 myself, but I believe MySQL 4.1 works just fine with Reloaded. I use MySQL 4.1 with Plesk 7.5.4 on FC2, FC3 and CentOS 4. Since Scott has MySQL 4.1 rpms for RHEL3 I'd think that ought to work.

It seems like you have two MySQL install though. I'd get rid of 'mysql Ver 14.7 Distrib 4.1.20, for redhat-linux-gnu (i686) using readline 4.3'. I think that that might be ruining it for you. Just install the .art packages.

Compatible MySQL

I saw in a forum that this version is the most compatible one: MySQL 4.0.27 and I have this rpms:

MySQL-client-4.0.27-0.i386.rpm
MySQL-devel-4.0.27-0.i386.rpm
MySQL-server-4.0.27-0.i386.rpm

Is there a way to uninstall all other MySQL and install this ones?

They don't look RHEL3 specific to me, but if you're sure they'll work you can run rpm -Uvh --oldpackage *.rpm in a directory where those rpms are located.

Oh yeah definitely, "MySQL" labeled rpms are from the mysql.com folks.
