Still cannot get this working
I have gotten a bit further. I have done a clean install, then updated the box by running: yum update Then changed yum.conf and tried to do yum update mysql Now I get the following output: Setting up Update Process Setting up Repos psa-7.5 100% |=========================| 951 B 00:00 base 100% |====...

Will try a re-install
Well it sounds like we are in the same boat. I also had a completely fresh install of FC3 and MySQL was also the first thing I tried to install.
Will try a re-install and will let anybody reading this thread know whether it solved my problem.

MySQL and Plesk problem still not solved

Still stumped
I have still not managed to resolve this issue. I am not sure what to do. Should I reinstall the operating system (which if fairly easy) and try again?

Why I need a newer version of MySQL
I use my server to run Moodle (http://moodle.org). The requirement for the latest version is >= 4.16. I am not sure why, but I think it has to with the character encoding...

I would be willing to test if somebody helps me
I have a Fedora Core 3 server with Plesk 7.5.4 running on it. I need a version >= 4.16 MySQL installation, so I am very willing to try out the new RPM from the testing channel. Can somebody please help me and explain what I need to add to "/etc/yum.conf" to make sure that when I run "...
