Apache dead after atomic php yum update

Unread post by mdtiberi »

So I thought things would be just fine after yum update of atomic php as yum check-update reported were available. Apache will not restart under Plesk and no web access. Tried to restart at the console though it tells me that all is fine. What did I do wrong? I guess things are not always so simple.

Thanks much

CentOS 5.1
Plesk 8.3

"htppd dead but subsys locked"

So I don't have to sit here all day and hack through the problem, I yum removed all of the installed files. Apache is now working but I don't know why. Perhaps I removed a single offending file. All the files that were "updated" according to the yum log I left alone as it looked too scary and was going to delete a lot of files that appeared essential. I know there probably is a simple way to rollback the install but alas it is beyond my newbie capabilities.

All is good. Just have to read the directions (http://www.atomicorp.com/wiki/index.php/PHP).
