Plesk 8.3/Atomic problem after upgrade

Unread post by Kalimari »

Hi,

I finally got around to upgrading some core elements of Plesk 8.3 via GUI - having not rushed to upgrade anything immediately as there were some issues which I noticed in the swsoft/parallels forum seemed to be resolved - it went without any hitches.

HOWEVER - ASL and YUM links in Plesk GUI no longer work, these were fine/tested immediately after the upgrade, but now:

ASL error:
Page loads slowly. All panels have loading... sometimes loading/others not!

YUM error:

Code: Select all

Error in exec command!
/usr/bin/sudo /usr/bin/yum list updates
Loading "repoheader" plugin

repo id repo name status
======= ========= ======
asl-2.0 Atomicorp - - Atomic Secured Linux enabled
atomic CentOS / Red Hat Enterprise Linux N enabled
plesk Plesk Server Administrator enabled

Setting up repositories

Plesk key update deferral notification
So, I took a look at the Plesk GUI updater page. Error:

Code: Select all

Error: Error! Failed to read product information from the file
Not all packages were installed.
Please, resolve the above problem and try installing the packages again.
If you cannot resolve the problem on your own, contact product technical support for assistance..
Shortly after I received a notifation e-mail:

Code: Select all

Plesk key update deferral notification
I have searched the swsoft forums, but none of these errors seem to have related issues. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is this a compatibility problem specific to Atomic updates?

Server is running RHEL4

Thanks for any help.

After a little more searching the swsoft forum it would seem this is related to the Plesk license server having problems!

If you have the same problem (and you can access Plesk), go to -> 'Server' -> 'License Management' and click 'Retrieve Keys'. It worked for me! Bad swsoft! :x

Anyone else ever experience this problem?

The only remaining issue is under ASL, the 'Signature Updates' are still blank, no idea why... Now strongly considering a no upgrade policy!!

We've got a new caching system in the next update (B5) that should help on this condition. Thats absolutely fasinating that you'd get that other error with atomic yum. I can only guess that the key error is being thrown back from apache itself. It would explain a lot.

Yeah, the atomic yum error is why I posted here, couldn't understand it.
All fine now, including ASL Signature Updates. Just bad timing for me that it occurred after a few minor updates. A bit of a heart stopping moment!

I got the same problem not maybe 100% similar but in the same way.

When try to instal new updates for plesk I got - answer:

Error: Installation could not be started: Failed to check whether a new license key is available.
The installation will not continue.
Not all packages were installed.
Please, contact product technical support..

The worse thing, that SUS - Software Update Service license I bought more than 30 days ago - so swsoft or paraller support do not help :(

I tried to retrieve license keysand there seems all ok, but I can not update ne versions

Is there any else possibility to try in this case?

Perhaps this is something going on with the dns changes they're going through right now. Ive had all kinds of problems getting through to the forums at Parallels/swsoft lately. I know someone else who had trouble running the autoinstaller today too, so maybe this is all dns related.
