Linux s15267833.onlinehome-server.info 2.6.23.16-20080211a #1 SMP Mon Feb 11 09:47:46 CET 2008 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Since we either haven't figured out what soylent green is, or understand that soylent green is people, I don't think that is a viable option. Any hope for this server/imaging problem beyond a "thats 70's" rendition of the 21st century? (I could get hungry enough to try!!!) I'd really like to know how to get Centos 5.1 installed but every attempt to do so (at the least) runs into the boot problem... Should I just be satisfied with an EOL FD6 image with plesk... which, btw, doesn't allow upgrading to 8.3 on this settup.

Well I would put in a trouble ticket to 1and1 if the image you can get doesnt have lilo on it. The one I got from 1and1, which they told me is the latest has it.

I'm having a problem at the same point in aooi. It can't seem to connect to download the ks.cfg file. Lilo seems fine on my image.. which was setup on the morning of Feb 28th. Is it a problem with the append line in lilo.conf?

append="ks=http://www.atomicorp.com/installers/AOOI/ks-x86_64.cfg ip=87.106.XXX.XXX netmask=255.255.255.255 gateway=10.255.255.1 dns=87.106.213.251 console=tty0 console=tty1 console=ttyS0,57600n8"

Can I just download the ks.cfg file and get it to reference locally? Are the hard drives ready for use at that point.. if so, referenced how? I tried it from /boot/ks-x86_64.cfg, but that didn't work. But I guess if there's no internet access, it's gonna struggle at some point anyway?

Thats exactly what the local-install mode does. Did you try that?

You need to put a bug in on that, all the 1and1 servers Ive been given havent had that problem. If I were to guess Id say that the image available at the 1and1 DC you are using is broken.

You`re right, i get this too both on ks=http://.... and method=http://....

The idiots at 1and1 are unresponsive to this.

Those arent my kernels, that is the RHEL/CentOS 5.1 kernel (mine have "art" in the name). They do actually see both the network, and the disks. What is happening is related to DHCP, where the ISO is for some reason not able to pick up the correct network information.

For your case remove the changes made to lilo.conf, and re-run AOOI using "local" install mode.
