ASL Kernel update on Centos 5.1

Unread post by tvanerp »

I have a server with a fresh install of Centos 5.1 (kernel version 2.6.18-53.1.14.el5xen). When i install ASL-2.0 the kernel doesn't get updated. Is there any specific reason for this? Is it safe to force an update from the ASL version?

its probably because you're using that xen kernel, and dont have the normal kernel installed on the system. In effect it looks like a completely different package on your box. "yum install kernel" might do the trick.
