HELP! Install.. How Long?? [SOLVED]

Unread post by ghickman »

I just purchased ASL and I've been trying to run the install. I have new Linux CentOS with Ensim and was told that there is now a standalone product that will work independant of the control panel. So I ordered, ssh'ed in as root and ran:

wget -q -O - http://www.atomicorp.com/installers/asl |sh

I then read through the license agreement and answered "yes" to install. Since then it appears that the install is running, but it has been going on for more than 3 hours.. How long does this take? I have never install something that takes anywhere near this long.

I sent several e-mails to support but so far have heard nothing. I'm supposed to be moving sites today from one server to this new one, but I'm dead in the water until this issue is resolved.

Anyone have any advice? Thank you

it should take only a few mins really. I think you might need to try again.

Is it taking hours for the inventory?

Had same issue on one server. By looking at the processes I was able to find the domain the scanner was hanging on. Just renamed the index file for the installation. Set it back after and disabled the nightly inventory scanner.

Support is looking at the file and as soon as it's fixed I hope I can set the nightly inventory check back.

No, this was a case where ASL wasn't even installed. I think he was stuck at one of the username/password prompts.
