Guys if I execute authconfig --passalgo=sha512 --update and change my encryption will this cause any problems with plesk ?

Plesk shouldnt care, it doesnt use the system auth files - but I would always try this out on a box you can break first and backup your /etc/shadow, /etc/passwd, etc. files first.
