Re: Upgrading from Plesk 8.6 should i?
Ive been going from 8.6 to 9.5 successfully
Re: Upgrading from Plesk 8.6 should i?
The really safe way of doing it, with suspenders and belt as we have a saying in Sweden, is do do a new OS installation on a seperate server and install Plesk 9.5 on that server. Then you can migrate your domains over to this server. This way you can always rool back if something goes really wrong. But, if Scott does the standard update, so can probably we. Just make sure you have a recent backup standing by...

Re: Upgrading from Plesk 8.6 should i?
Update failed. SUS license unpaid (8.6 100 domains owned license)
Parallels said that i have to upgrade license UNLIMITED domain (560$) then upgrade SUS (499$)
seems like i will sell this license to someone that want to stay on 8.6 plesk and move to isp-manager panel
this is to expensive for me
interesting part - reseller told about this @hiden charge@ (SUS) only now
when i was purchasing license nobody spoke about SUS charges
now i found info about it parallels.com

I don't think you have to pay BOTH of those things?
At any rate it would be cheaper to just buy one new Unlimited one at those prices.
You can also pay monthly - that's what they really want from you. That's what all this SaaS nonsense is all about. I'm staggered that the model has worked for them, and very disappointed too, because it has resulted in a few of our 10, 30 and 100 domain licenses, which were accidentally not renewed, being stuck on 8.6 for the rest of eternity.

I just had a look and it sounds very nice. The UI and features are almost exactly as I would design them myself.
Prices look good, and if you don't need support you can pay 500 euros and get yourself a reseller account where each Pro license costs around 76 euros rather than 225 euros. Support looks to be good, and updates appear to be frequent when bugs are found.
No qmail support, so spamdyke out of the question though. I but I assume MTA-flavor-of-the-day postfix offers similar features out of the box or at least with little effort?
I have to say that I am very tempted to try this out. I guess it all depends on how easy it will be to get ASL to work with it.
Faris.
