Cpanel and atomic repo

Unread post by nobody »

I know ASL has started its bleeding phase of testing with cpanel.

But I was wondering. Would it be ok to run a CentOS 5.5 with cpanel and use the atomic repository in yum or will this cause possibly compatability issues with cpanel ?
Hello IT.

Thats a great question, during R&D here I'm adding the ASL and Atomic channels here to answer that specific question. I think that in may cases, cpanel has already globally excluded the packages that overlap. Atomic follows the same naming conventions established by red hat so I don't expect there to be any catastrophic collisions.

So go for it, please test out ASL and Atomic on cpanel and let us know where you run into problems. You do not need extra licenses for ASL Betas, you can run those on an unlimited number of systems. This is all my team is working on right now, so we're generally turning around ASL cpanel updates the same day.
