Unable to create domains on 7.5.4

Unread post by RurouniJones »

Hello all! Been lurking here for quite a while, very useful place this!

I just upgraded to the ART Plesk 7.5.4 (psa-7.5.4-fc2.build75050824.12)on Fedora Core 2 and am receiving the following error when I try and create a domain (After entering the FTP username, password and other details and submitting). (domain name replaced with "domain.com")
Unable to assign variables for PHostingForm: Unable to get hardquota state: dnsmng: Unable to search PTR records for domain.com :Got error 28 from storage engine

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

0: /usr/local/psa/admin/htdocs/domains/hosting/phosting_setup.php:290 psaerror(string "Unable to assign variables for PHostingForm: Unable to get hardquota state: dnsmng: Unable to search PTR records for domain.com :Got error 28 from storage engine")
It looks like this is a long running problem (As evidenced by this thread, first started on 7.5.2? and others on sw-soft forums that are being posted now as well)

http://forum.sw-soft.com/showthread.php ... post128330

I tried a fix suggested on that thread of replacing usermng with a different version but that didn't help. I am hoping some of you smART ;) people have any ideas?

Thanks very much for spending your brain power reading this post and possibly helping :)

Ok, it looks like some people are having the same problem due to the filesystem being XFS and the usrquota parameter not being set.

In my case I am using XFS but hte parameter is set in /etc/mtab and /etc/fstab so I am not sure it is that.

(I am running a 1&1 server by the way if that helps any).

Eugh. It also looks like Horde is boned (Won't log in and get this error when going to the mail icon on the server admin section.
0: /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/common_func.php3:203 psaerror(string "Unable to query: Got error 28 from storage engine")
1: /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/cmd_mail.php3:1869 db_query(string "SELECT COUNT(*) AS num FROM mail m, accounts a WHERE m.account_id=a.id AND a.type='plain' AND a.password != "" GROUP BY m.mail_name, a.password having num > 1")
2: /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/class.ServerMailForm.php:113 short_pop3_names_compability()
3: /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/class.ServerMailForm.php:289 ServerMailForm->javascript(boolean true)
4: /usr/local/psa/admin/htdocs/server/mail.php3:186 ServerMailForm->assign(array, array)
If I look at the normal plesk updater it says certain packages are out of date (Base PSA and Horde for one thing). I am getting "Got error 28 from storage engine" errors all over the place.

I think I may just update everything via the normal plesk updater. I shall leave it for a day or so in case anyone has bright ideas.

Thanks

RJ
