Mysql upgrade

Hi to everyone
we run a centos 3.6 with plesk 7.5.3 and php 4.3 and mysql 3.23.58
My goal is to upgrade mysql but my questions are to which version can an d should i upgrade to, which art directory should i use through yum and if i sould preform any operations before the upgrade (back up etc)

You'll need to upgrade to psa 7.5.4 to use mysql 4.1

I just upgraded my psa to 7.5.4 and now i want to upgrae mysql to 4.1.x
Any suggestions on necessery actions before the actuall upgrade (full mysql back up?) and on which art rpm package to use?

I just run "yum update" myself
