How to disable qmail-scanner

Unread post by prupert »

How do I temporarily disable qmail-scanner?

This is because of the "clamdscan: corrupt or unknown clamd scanner error or memory/resource/perms problem - exit status 512/2" error I'm getting, while unable to fix it with "chown qscand:qscand /var/log/clamav/clamd.log; qmail-scanner-reconfigure".

If I temporarily disable qmail-scanner at least mail is being delivered.

If ClamAV is the problem, you can stop the clamd service and reconfigure qmail-scanner: service clamd stop && qmail-scanner-reconfigure. Obviously mail won't be scanned by ClamAV after that.

What version of clamav are you using? An update that came out a few days ago breaks anything older than 0.91.2

it pulls down the latest version available in the archive. What distribution are you on? The problem might be you're using something I can't support any more. Right now I'm building for:
CentOS 4/5
RHEL 4/5
Fedora 4-8
