Question about the Atomic Offline OS Installer?

Unread post by billym »

I am desperate for a solution and ran across this hoping that it might be just what I am looking for. Here is what I am up against. I have currently signed up for a VPS account that has provided me with the Virtuozzo Power Panel and Plesk using CentOS 4. I need to install asterisk but it requires me to install the zaptel module into the kernel. Since I do not have access to the kernel within my VPS, can this method of install provide this for me within my VPS or do I still need administrative access to the server/provider permissions to accomplish this?

A VPS doesn't have its own kernel, but uses the kernel of the host system. AOOI is also not intended for use with a VPS AFAIK.

Yeah you're pretty much not going to be able to use asterisk on a VPS. You're going to need a dedicated box.
