What I want to do is set up a holding (Parking) page which would be shown to visitors when they enter a domain that has our namservers associated with it, but has DNS records (yet). We don't use our Plesk boxes for DNS -- they are all separate boxes running Bind.
According to the Great God Google it doesn't seem to be possible to redirect nxdomains with Bind.
I did see something about using wildcard tlds though, which looked promising. Like adding *.com A 1.2.3.4 as a zone, though that looks dangerous to me!
Has anyone done this? Is there another way?
If any of this works, what about the apache side of the config? I presume that if there's no virtual host match, it will display the website belonging to the default domain for that IP.
Faris.
nxdomain to holding page ala Plesk?
