Plesk RBL & Qmail

Unread post by webfeatus »

I have read http://www.atomicorp.com/forums/viewtop ... =18&t=3946
This thread discusses issues similar to mine.
Plesk shows Qmail service as not running and wont restart.
But smtp is running.
Although RBL checks on port 25 do not seems to be working and I think this is what Plesk is identifying by the error.

This is what my server admin say:
It seems that you accidentally upgraded one of dependencies package for
"psa-qmail-rblsmtpd" which caused this component corrupted.

Please check the following :
-----------------------------------------------
[root@webfeat /]# rpm -qR psa-qmail-rblsmtpd
/bin/sh
/bin/sh
libc.so.6
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.0)
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1)
psa-qmail
rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1
rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1
rtld(GNU_HASH)
-----------------------------------------------

While this library file "libc.so.6" is from glibc-2.5-49 package that
you have upgraded on 16 May 2010 :
------------------------------------------------
[root@webfeat /]# rpm -qf /lib/libc.so.6
glibc-2.5-49
[root@webfeat /]# grep libc /var/log/yum.log
May 16 08:17:13 Updated: glibc-common-2.5-49.i386
May 16 08:17:40 Updated: glibc-2.5-49.i686
May 16 08:18:20 Updated: glibc-headers-2.5-49.i386
May 16 08:18:21 Updated: glibc-devel-2.5-49.i386
-----------------------------------------------

I had reinstall "psa-qmail-rblsmtpd" based on your original package
(Plesk 9.2.3) from below location :

/root/parallels/PSA_9.2.3/dist-rpm-CentOS-5-i386/opt/mail/psa-qmail-
rblsmtpd-0.70-cos5.build92091016.19.i586.rpm

But it doesn't solved this problem. Most likely it is because the
dependency package is not match with the original version.
They say that good intentions, pave the road to hell;
If a thing is not worth doing, it's not worth doing well.
