AUM restarts Apache even though MODSEC_ENABLED="no"

Customer support forums for Atomic Protector (formerly Atomic Secured Linux). There is no such thing as a bad question here as long as it pertains to using Atomic Protector. Newbies feel free to get help getting started or asking questions that may be obvious. Regular users are asked to be gentle. :-)

AUM restarts Apache even though MODSEC_ENABLED="no"

Unread post by prupert »

I can remember that AUM did not restart Apache when mod_security was disabled (MODSEC_ENABLED="no" in /etc/asl/config). I now notice that when the ASL MODSEC rules are updated (via the daily/hourly cronjob or manually via aum -u) Apache will be restarted. Isn't this an unnecessary interruption of the web server?
