MDADM recovery

Unread post by webicity »

I have a RHEL3ES box running MDADM. One of the drives is gone (physically removed to resemble a failed drive). It's supposed to "find" the spare drive and go on with business. Not so. It starts up and comes to "GRUB" and that's it. I ran the "recover" function, it booted back up to the same thing -- "GRUB" and stopped. What should I have done besides keep a boot disk floppy handy?

Is there any way to get a full boot up from half a MDADM RAID?

I can't run PHLAK because it has a problem with the dual bios appearing to be a dual processor and it freaks out when it can't find the "real" second processor.

LVM, and I was mistaken, it is RHEL 4 ES.
