Error While Trying The Yum Command ( Fedora Core 6 )
Error While Trying The Yum Command ( Fedora Core 6 )
Hi,
I recently try to update my server using yum command but whatever I do I receive this error:
# yum update
Setting up Update Process
Setting up repositories
http://www.atomicorp.com/channels/atomi ... repomd.xml: [Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (-3, 'Temporary failure in name resolution')>
Trying other mirror.
Error: Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: atomic
I checked out many websites but I have not found something that solves this problem.
I would appreciate If someone could help me about this.

You didn't mention, are you still having the problem connecting via yum?
There is a topic at fedoraforum.org which may help: http://fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=52921 and Google threw up lots of stuff with plenty of diagnosis tips: http://www.google.com/search?q=yum+temp ... resolution
Good luck

If you're still running Fedora Core 6, I'd start looking into a migration to a supported OS. I believe Fedora Core 6 reached end of life over a year ago.

What happens on your machine if you run these commands:
nslookup www.atomicorp.com
and
wget http://www.atomicorp.com/channels/atomi ... repomd.xml
nslookup www.atomicorp.com
and
wget http://www.atomicorp.com/channels/atomi ... repomd.xml

Don't know if this is related but I have had a really hard time reaching ART frontpage and forums the since Friday. The changelog has always been working though...

I was unable to connect to atomicrocketturtle.com via http or yum this morning, seems to happen every now and then.

Yes, there was a period on Sunday and Monday morning when I noted problems.

Clearly the server is down.
Re: Error While Trying The Yum Command ( Fedora Core 6 )
Now I have CentOS 6 installed but the same problem.
How would it help if I give you the IP adress wich I'm trying to connect?
Other repos are working fine, only atomicturttle does not!
