Since they are separate packages, you would 'yum remove spamassassin'. This will have no effect on the clamd or clamav packages.lesz wrote:Anyone can tell me how to uninstall spamd and remain clamd?
I am not sure I understand what you want on this. Please clarify.lesz wrote:Of disable clamd and remain clamd.
You did not mention qmail-scanner, so I am not sure where GZ got that from, but instead of uninstalling q-s and reinstalling it after removing spamassassin, just re-run the qmail-scanner-reconfigure script after spamassassin has been removed.
Hi Guys,

You only need to update clamd when freshclam tells you that your package is a version out. Spamassassin once installed doesn't necessarly need to be updated unless you like running the latest version. There is also from time to time compatablility issues if you are also running psa-spamassassin. If you are not running psa-spamassassin then updates really are not an issue I believe. qmail-scanner... don't think you need to update that at all, I think that is very stable and since it replaces the qmail wrapper so that spamassassin and clamd can run on your mail.
