Since they are separate packages, you would 'yum remove spamassassin'. This will have no effect on the clamd or clamav packages.

I am not sure I understand what you want on this. Please clarify.

You did not mention qmail-scanner, so I am not sure where GZ got that from, but instead of uninstalling q-s and reinstalling it after removing spamassassin, just re-run the qmail-scanner-reconfigure script after spamassassin has been removed.

Hi Scott,

Sorry for not following. I'm using FC2 and Plesk 7.1. I'm not sure what should I do to get myself up-to-date. Scott and everyone else, will be really appreciate if you can give me some hints on what should I do now. Thank you.

P/S: I'm a server newbie. :-)

you need to update your yum.conf and change the channels that your current configuration is looking at and point them to the new archives.

Hi,

I've update that. When I type 'yum update clamav' it says my clamav is up to date. But my clamav version is clamav-0.83-1.rhfc2.art and I saw in th channel have version 8.8. Why yum say my version is up to date? Please advice, thank you.

Hi,

How many updates (such as clamd, freshclam) I need to do in order to update the whole psa-qmail-scanner package?

Are there any one single command to update the whole package? Please advice, thank you.

You only need to update clamd when freshclam tells you that your package is a version out. Spamassassin once installed doesn't necessarly need to be updated unless you like running the latest version. There is also from time to time compatablility issues if you are also running psa-spamassassin. If you are not running psa-spamassassin then updates really are not an issue I believe. qmail-scanner... don't think you need to update that at all, I think that is very stable and since it replaces the qmail wrapper so that spamassassin and clamd can run on your mail.
